North American Lumber receives Awards by Chris Jones | Carnduff Gazette Post News

On March 5th, 6th and 7th, Joe and Jean Sopel travelled to Winnipeg to attend the
North American Lumber manager meeting. There are twenty North American Lumber
Yards all across Canada. Joe along with wife Jean has been running the North American
Lumber yard in Carnduff for the past 2 years and 4 months. In this very short time our
small community and surrounding communities have seen a great increase in products
brought into this store. Joe has been working very hard to increase the inventory in his
store to better serve this community and all others.
While in Winnipeg, at the meeting, a luncheon was held, and awards were given out
honouring the dedicated managers across Canada that work for North American. Each
manager was presented with a new Winnipeg Jets jersey, along with honourable certificates.
Joe was one of these very dedicated managers. He received 2 different awards.
One being “Highest Sales Increase Over the Previous Year Award.” The second being
“Highest Sales Above Budget Award.”
Congratulations Joe! Two very well deserved awards! The hard work Joe and staff
have put in is represented in great numbers to prove the awards were well deserved. Joe
told me that they have quadrupled their sales in this very short time! Wow!
Joe and Jean, along with Linda and her in-store staff at North American Lumber have
done a lot of hard work. Joe says that if it wasn’t for the dedication and work from his
staff, he never could have done it. He is very proud of his staff, and thanks them for a
job well done! However, he is always looking for more very hard working, energetic and
motivated staff to come aboard.
Joe says they hope to expand their store in the near future, to be able to serve Carnduff
and surrounding communities with a better selection of hardware products and much
more.
They have been kept busy with the housing and building boom in our little community,
along with the staff that work out of the Carnduff North American yard, he also has
a staff member, Bobbi, who is Jean’s daughter, an AutoCAD house designer, working
out of her home in Winnipeg. Bobbi has been designing houses for several years now,
and does a wonderful job pleasing her customers.
So make sure you stop in and see what North American Lumber has to offer. Joe and
the staff are all very willing to help you with anything you need. If he doesn’t have what
you are looking for I am very sure he will try to get it for you!
Hats off to you Joe, for bring our little lumber yard back to life; you are very worthy
of your awards! Keep up the awesome work!
